Truth and Reconciliation

‘The Dish With One Spoon’ is an agreement entered by the Anishinaabe, Mississaugas, and Haudenosaunee, where nations protect the land in harmony together.

Form + Bang Design Studio acknowledges that we are on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. Tkaronto is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. As settlers and immigrants, we are mindful of the mistreatment of indigenous people’s land, culture, and resources all across Turtle Island.

Design, Architecture, Urban Planning and Construction plays a crucial role in marginalizing people with exclusionary practices. Common elements such as forced expulsion of native people to build settler colonies, the unethical labour practices to extract resources from the planet, or building walls or red lining neighbourhoods to divide people are seen globally. Thus, it is clear that the struggle for Indigenous peoples worldwide is shared.

OUR COMMITMENT

Form + Bang Studio is committed to protecting and supporting the honour, the history, and the liberation of indigenous people from occupied places globally. Whether it is Palestine, Congo, Sudan, or Turtle Island.  It is our collective responsibility to engage in meaningful conversations and to advocate for decolonization in Design, Architecture, and Construction industry.
